Well, back from Hong Kong. Still suffering from jetlag, but I will overcome it! --> eventually...

Traveled with Cathay Pacific, great airline. Wish I was in first class though - those seats were sweet. Hmm, watched A LOT of films to and from HK. Not much else to do on the plane besides that ... and sleep ... and eat ... Had to make the most of it

She’s the Man = B

*Amanda Bynes was hilarious =P

V for Vendetta = B+

*Props to Hugo Weaving

The Art of Seduction [Korean film] = B+

Can't wait to organize all my photos, but I must confess that I am still working on my Study Abroad album hehe. Here's to procrastinating!

Film Reviews for the Week:

Rebecca by Alfred Hitchcock = A-

* I saw a theatre adaptation to this film in Bath, England. I feel both performances were superb.

The Interpreter = B

* I saw one of the DVD's Bonus Features entitled "A Day in the life of Real Interpreters," and U.N. Interpreters are amazing. It has been suggested that they are performers themselves as they are the people "who enable communication among nations," and who essentially serve as mediators to those nations in hopes of bringing about compromise and peace.

Porco Rosso = B

Bringing Up Baby = A+

* The most hilarious film ever! I’ve never laughed so much

Well, as a perk with New Yorkers for Parks, I got an Unlimited Metrocard, so I decided to put it to good use. I went to Governor’s Island and Roosevelt Island, or as I like to call it “Queenhatten” because of its location. Both were very lovely and great escapes from the busyness that is Manhattan, if only for a short while…

I will be leaving for Hong Kong and Beijing next week. I'm very excited, but also very nervous due to the immense humidity and heat I will have to endure... Wishing everyone the best of luck. I hope you enjoy the rest of summer and try to stay cool!

Reviews:

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou = B

Museum of Art and Design = intimate and innovative, could be bigger… B

*I also met Malan Brenton from this season’s Project Runway at Saks Fifth Avenue, which was on my way to the Museum. Never thought I’d meet a celeb in a dept. store. Go figure…

The Frick Collection = petite, diverse, and reminiscent of the Wallace Collection in London… B+
